Empowering RHU TB service delivery and sustainability: CareGo Health Suite Training at Mankayan RHU

With the support of Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), CP Health Innovations collaborated with rural health units (RHUs) to implement a project focused on enhancing tuberculosis (TB) service delivery of healthcare facilities and bolstering operational sustainability through PhilHealth reimbursements, utilizing the CareGo Health Suite.
CareGo Health Suite, a clinic management app, streamlines administrative health operations in health facilities. Through health SMS reminders, it enhances dissemination of health program information, assists patients in managing medication intake, and provides reminders for follow-up consultations, all aimed at improving health outcomes and advancing healthcare delivery.
Prior to the scheduled orientation and training of Mankayan RHU staff, CP Health Innovations conducted a courtesy meeting with the Municipal Mayor of Mankayan, Benguet, Hon. Dario S. Banario. During the meeting, Hon. Banario was briefed on the objectives of the partnership with Mankayan RHU, the various activities associated with the project’s implementation, as well as an overview of CP Health Innovations’ initiatives and projects.
TB Research Orientation and CareGo Health Suite Training of Mankayan RHU staff
Between August 28 and September 1, 2023, staff at Mankayan RHU participated in an orientation session focusing on various aspects of the project, followed by intensive hands-on training on the CareGo Health Suite. During this period, the staff were briefed on the project’s significance and objectives, received an overview of the entire project workflow, and were provided with the necessary forms for TB patients.
The training commenced with an introduction to the features and functionalities of the CareGo Health Suite, followed by practical hands-on sessions. Throughout the training, the staff actively utilized the application to register and enroll TB patients, as well as to enlist the Mankayan Rural Health Unit staff and Barangay Healthcare Workers.
During orientation and training, staff expressed their enthusiasm for CareGo Health Suite, recognizing its potential to streamline their work, aid TB patients in their treatment plan, and potentially adapt its features for other healthcare programs within the community. Equipped with new knowledge and skills, Mankayan RHU staff are poised to significantly enhance TB service within their community.
