Lanuza Rural Health Unit (RHU) once again joined forces with CP Health Innovations to bolster its tuberculosis (TB) service delivery and ensure sustainability, contributing significantly to healthcare advancements in the Philippines.
Following the successful integration of the CareGo Health Suite into the TB programs of Danao RHU and Mankayan RHU, Lanuza RHU embarked on a comprehensive training program from November 20 to November 24, 2023. This initiative aimed to equip Lanuza RHU staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement the CareGo Health Suite in their TB program.
As CPHI and Lanuza RHU have a prior partnership about assessing oral contraceptive pill (OCP) adherence using CareGo Health Suite, the training process was seamless during the project implementation.
In the project orientation, Lanuza RHU staff, who were already well-versed in the majority of forms similar to those used in the OCP initiative, focused on clarifying any additional forms and receiving guidance on the project’s objectives, significance, and processes. During the CareGo Health Suite training, staff engaged in discussions regarding changes and enhancements in the application’s features before transitioning to hands-on training. This involved various processes within the application, including the registration of TB patients and staff, as well as patient enrollment in the TB program. Staff exhibited enthusiasm for the CareGo Health Suite, recognizing its potential to streamline manual tasks and dissemination of health program information to TB patients within the community. They actively participated in discussions and provided suggestions to further enhance project implementation and improve patient understanding.
Following the training, the staff and CPHI proceeded with the house-to-house visitation to TB patients in the community for consent gathering and interviews. Leveraging their new knowledge and skills, Lanuza RHU staff are now well-equipped to not only improve TB service delivery but also to positively impact the lives of TB patients in their community.
