CPHI Recognized as Sole Winner of DOST-PCHRD Startup Grant Fund 2023

Muntinlupa City, Philippines — CP Health Innovations, Inc. (CPHI) has been honored as the sole recipient of the highly prestigious Startup Grant Fund (SGF) of the Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Health Research and Development for its project, Empowering RHU’s TB Service Delivery and Sustainability through CareGo Health Suite in Accordance with the Universal Healthcare Law.
This grant, awarded by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), underscores CPHI’s innovative approach to enhancing healthcare delivery in the Philippines, particularly for tuberculosis (TB) programs in rural health units (RHUs).

About the Award-Winning Project
The project, backed by the Startup Research Grant Program of DOST-PCHRD, seeks to revolutionize TB service delivery in RHUs by leveraging the power of the CareGo Health Suite, a clinic management application. With an emphasis on aligning with the Universal Healthcare Law, the initiative focuses on improving health outcomes, boosting program sustainability, and optimizing PhilHealth reimbursements to benefit RHUs and their communities.
Key components of the project include:
- Application Development: Enhancing CareGo Health Suite with features for patient enrollment, attendance tracking, anti-TB drug adherence monitoring, and automated report generation.
- Community Engagement via SMS Nudges: Testing SMS reminders to improve TB program attendance and patient compliance.
- Baseline Data Gathering: Collecting epidemiological, public health, and socioeconomic data to inform future interventions.
- Economic Impact Assessment: Measuring increased PhilHealth reimbursements and cost-effectiveness to ensure program sustainability.

Looking Ahead
Over the next 12 months, CPHI will focus on developing, testing, and deploying the CareGo Health Suite’s TB module in partner RHUs. This effort will include capacity-building for health workers, usability testing, and data-driven assessments to refine the solution.
By the end of the project, CPHI aims to demonstrate significant improvements in TB program outcomes, ensuring that the initiative contributes meaningfully to the fight against tuberculosis and the broader Universal Healthcare agenda.
