CareGo EMR explores innovation ecosystem with ReachHealth

In a spontaneous exploratory meeting, Dr. Matira introduced us to Mr. Rod Anacan of RTI International. The group discussed the need for an interoperable health information system that fits in well with the existing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in the Rural Health Unit.
One of the concerns that Mr. Rod expressed was that existing EMRs usually will not accept data with errors or variation, which adds a layer of barrier to streamlining the administrative processes. He said that it would be better if there is a way to unify the data with different systems communicating with one another. There should be a way for different innovation initiatives to collaborate to achieve this.
Dr. Matira also added that this centralization of health data is important for community members to maximize the benefits of primary healthcare provided by health centers. Mr. Rod also suggested how CareGo EMR can further improve its services according to the current needs of the health units in the Batangas Province.
The exploratory meeting was productive and insightful for the CareGo EMR team. The team is looking forward to implementing more context- and ecosystem-responsive tools for the health workers on the ground with pieces of learning gained from interactions with important stakeholders.
