CP Health Innovations (CPHI) continues to make significant strides in modernizing public health facility assessments through the Facility Readiness and Essential Services Availability Application (FRESAA). On September 18-21, 2023, a series of impactful activities were completed at San Francisco, Agusan del Sur underscoring our commitment to equipping health professionals with innovative digital tools.

Training on FRESAA App Usage
The event began with an in-depth training session for Caraga CHD staff, focusing on the FRESAA web and mobile applications. Participants learned how to conduct facility assessments efficiently, interpret data, and use dashboards for decision-making.
Pilot Testing in Rosario, Agusan del Sur
To validate FRESAA’s effectiveness, the team conducted pilot testing in Rosario, Agusan del Sur. Barangay health stations and birthing facilities served as test sites, with assessments completed in just 3–4 hours per facility. This hands-on activity demonstrated the app’s practicality and potential to streamline public health operations.

Initial Feedback for App Revision
Feedback from participants and pilot testers was gathered during a dedicated session. Their insights provided actionable recommendations, such as:
- Simplifying certain indicators for ease of use.
- Enhancing dashboard designs to improve data visualization.
These suggestions are now being integrated into the app’s next iteration.
Side Session with Davao CHD
In a collaborative side session, the CPHI team trained the Davao Center for Health Development (CHD) on the FRESAA app. This session emphasized adaptability for broader regional use, ensuring that Davao CHD can independently implement FRESAA for their facility assessments.

Looking Ahead
The activities in Agusan del Sur marked a critical step in preparing FRESAA for broader implementation across regions. Moving forward, CPHI remains focused on:
- Addressing feedback to enhance FRESAA’s usability and features.
- Preparing for the app’s rollout in new regions, including pilot testing in Aklan by February 2024.
- Expanding training sessions to empower more health professionals with this transformative tool.
